Is the South really different from the rest of the U.S.?

Well, yes, if you ask the Southerners at the Center for the Study of Southern Culture. Heck, they award college degrees in Southern Studies at the University of Mississippi, also known as Ole Miss.

They take their study of Southern culture seriously. And they do it well.

And what a lovely home for the Center for the Study of Southern Culture on the campus of Ole Miss.

It was founded by the inimitable William R. Ferris, born in Vicksburg, and later founder of the Center for the Study of Southern Culture. We’ll have more to say about Mr. Ferris in a later blog post.
