Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge
If you are ever in Jacksonville, Florida with an extra day on your hands, drive the 67 miles to the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge.
It’s incredible. It’s 407,00 acres. 630 square miles – that’s 21 X 30 miles. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife keeps it pristine and protected. It’s unlike anything y’all will ever see in North America.
If there in your car, you can take the 7.4 mile Swamp Auto Drive. If you want to take a walk, there are eighteen walking trails from a tenth of a mile to 33 miles.
And if you want to have the full experience, get on the water trails and book a night on one of their platforms shown below at the bottom.
